Style Diary: NYC Winters

As much as I love NYC, I've never quite gotten used to the winters here. I grew up down South in Baton Rouge and it almost never got cold enough for a coat. In fact I bought my very first real winter coat when I moved to New York 10 years ago! As a result, I'm not the most adept winter layer-er (is that a word?) and my daytime sartorial tastes tend to suffer a bit in lieu of staying warm. Anyway, NYC has had slightly above average temperatures the past few days which I have totally been taking advantage of. I swapped my huge winter coat for a chic but warm sweater when I was out running errands in Brooklyn recently.
